HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION: A feature of these quality potting sheds is the heavy duty doors, which are fully framed ledged and braced with a good quality mortice lock. Black antique handles and hinges are included as standard. The windows are also well made with joinery opening windows featuring morticed and tenoned joints. The glazing is glass retained with glazing beads. Another feature is the substantial framing spaced close together, which ensures a more robust and durable building.
WESTERN RED CEDAR: Cedar is a naturally resilient timber which lasts longer than pine and other softwoods even if never treated from new. Western Red Cedar is a sustainable resource from North America.
PRESSURE TREATED TIMBER: Pressure treatment is a lifetime preservative treatment. The preservative is forced into the timber under pressure and penetrates below the surface, whereas all other treatments apply a coat of stain to the surface of the timber only. Pressure treatment is almost colourless except for a slight green tint caused by the copper content in the preservative. No further treatment is ever needed but if you want a coloured finish you can paint over pressure treated timber with normal wood preservative in any colour.
TOUGHENED GLASS: Toughened glass is around 6 times stronger than normal glass so it is less likely to break and when it does break the glass breaks into harmless small pieces.
LENGTH AND WIDTH: In the SIZES & PRICES chart the first dimension listed is the width and the second dimension is the length. The width refers to the angled gable wall. All sizes quoted are the external potting shed sizes unless stated otherwise.

TIMBER CLADDING PANELS: Half boarded timber cladding panels offer maximum heat retention in the winter and are ideal for growing shade-loving plants such as ferns. The cladding is fully built into the greenhouse frame as an integral part which cannot be detached. Cladding panels are available per side and per end to suit your needs.
VENTILATION: Additional ventilation will improve the air circulation through the greenhouse for better growing results. Automatic openers react to heat to ensure that in hot weather the window will ventilate in your absence. You should consider which plants you may grow because some plants such as alpines require more ventilation than others.
RESTRICTED ACCESS: A quality feature of these potting sheds is that they are made in large rigid panels. If access is restricted, your potting shed can be specially made in smaller sections designed to pass through a normal single door. The smaller sections are designed to be at least as strong as the larger panels normally supplied. There is a charge for this option and notice is required with the order. For more details see "Other options".
